Guidelines and Themes

We do not publish work that has already been posted elsewhere, including personal blogs or Substack. If a piece exists online, you may delete the original and submit it for review, or send in a fresh draft written specifically for People’s Archive. Submissions should be sent with the intention of being published here and not be under consideration elsewhere at the same time.

We appreciate submissions that are thoughtfully edited and feel complete. That said, if you’d like support, we have an editing team on board who will review selected essays and submissions and suggest changes where needed. Editing is always collaborative and handled with care for your voice.

Note: There is no fee for the edits we make or suggest ♡

People’s Archive is interested in writing that circles memory, intimacy, distance, becoming, domestic life, longing, grief, joy, and the unnamed moments in between. So yes — almost everything. We value work that notices truths, sits with them, and lets them breathe.

We deeply value originality. If you’ve taken inspiration from platforms such as Pinterest, Substack, Medium, or elsewhere, please clearly link or credit the source within your submission. We do not publish plagiarised content, and transparency around inspiration is important to us.

That said, we will not be publishing work that promotes or centres explicit sexual behaviour. Submissions focused on sexual content, including smut, will not be considered.

Collaborations

For collaborations specifically with Gor, please reach out via email. A collaboration fee of $10 applies. For this collaboration, you will be given Gor’s direct contact and can stay in touch with him on a daily basis throughout the process. He will reach out whenever you need it, offer guidance and feedback along the way, and, where relevant, write alongside you during the collaboration.

For submissions, collaborations, or letters you’d like us to read, email: gorsnewsletter@gmail.com
