Love Rains
A little bored
A little lonely
But that’s alright.
I have you now, And my heart is light.
Never to be,
Longing so sadly
On any rainy, Or any cloudy day.
Because, rain reminds me Of our second Encounter.
Little memory drops
Tapping my
Head and shoulders.
“Remember, remember this?”
Remember that?”
They whisper in my ears They echo on the streets.
Pitter patter, pitter patter
“Here you talked and learned and listened. Remember?”
“And he would touch your shoulder,
Before crossing the street.”
“And you brought an umbrella because you like To be prepared.
Remember?”
And now he says,
“I wanted to marry you from the beginning.”
And no umbrella could prepare you For this kind of rain.
Wedding bells in the air.
The distant, future wind
Breaths a song,
“Love reigns, and it rains On your heads.
Like heaven’s blessings
Broke with the clouds And they poured
And they keep pouring
Pitter patter, pitter patter “Always remember”
When it rains, Love reigns.”
